Welcome to Olive Tree Garden Design, a friendly and professional garden design service based in Nottinghamshire. We are dedicated to helping you rediscover your garden and create a unique space that is tailored to your needs.

Our founder, Jackie Setchfield, has had a lifelong passion for gardening, cultivating her horticultural skills from a young age. After a successful career in marketing, Jackie decided to follow her first love, combining her delight in all things botanical and creating beautiful spaces. Jackie holds RHS level 2 and 3 qualifications and has honed her design skills through studying for a degree in Horticulture and Garden Design at Nottingham Trent University. She is a Pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers.

Since starting Olive Tree Garden Design in 2010, Jackie has built a small professional practice that has attracted clients nationwide. In 2013, she entered and won a Gold Medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for her design for The Motor Neurone Disease Association. In 2015, Jackie was commissioned by Nottingham Trent University to design a Nottingham City Centre oasis as part of their Greening the City Initiative. The garden won a Gold Award at the International Green Apple awards for its biodiversity in an urban situation.

At Olive Tree Garden Design, we provide a comprehensive design service that starts with a garden design consultation visit at your home. We conduct a survey of the site to record all measurements and key features, apparent utilities, soil condition and aspect. Concepts are realised through aerial views and sketches, which show the overall layout of the garden. We develop mood boards and scaled colour plans, noting each type of materials for hardscape. For bespoke features, we provide Construction Details to ensure that the feature is fully 'worked out' and that the contractor has an accurate design to build to.

We work with a select group of high-quality professional landscapers and can carry out the tender process on your behalf. During the construction process, we can regularly visit the site to ensure the design is executed to the agreed plan and standards. Once the planting plan and budgets are approved, we source, order, deliver, and install the plants, and provide a written maintenance plan for yourself on a month-by-month instruction schedule.
