Leaf Creative Gardens, formerly known as Howle Hill Nursery, was established in 1996 by Peter Dowle. With a rich history in the gardening industry, we have been serving the Gloucestershire community for over two decades. Our founder, Peter Dowle, inherited his passion for gardening from his father, Julian, a renowned garden designer. Peter spent his childhood at the Chelsea Flower Show, helping to create award-winning designs.
Leaf Creative Gardens is a landscape and design firm that has won numerous awards for our gardens, including gold medals at RHS Chelsea, RHS Hampton Court, and RHS Malvern, with several named Best in Show. Our team has had the privilege of working with top designers such as Chris Beardshaw, David Stevens, Sarah Eberle, and James Basson.

Peter Dowle, our Head Garden Designer and owner of Howle Hill Nursery, is a plantsman with a keen interest in Japanese maples. Our nursery is full of unusual and interesting plants, including a wide range of acers available for sale. We also operate an online nursery, acersdirect.com, which was founded in 2016.
Angela Delaney, a director of the business, manages the office and helps clients find the right person for their gardening needs.
Our CAD proficient designers can help you realise your dream garden, whether it's a small courtyard or a spacious country estate. They can advise on everything from hard landscaping to choosing plants.
Our hard landscapers take pride in delivering show garden quality to every project. They are skilled in excavation and groundworks, paving, walling, steps, and water features. Our team includes specialist craftsmen in both natural and dry stone walling, rock placement, stone paving, and timberwork.
Our soft landscapers specialise in soil preparation, planting new borders, and rejuvenating existing trees and shrubs. They are passionate about plants and can transform your garden with the perfect planting plan for your site, based on careful consideration of aspect, soil type, and the atmosphere you wish to create.
