At Beardsworths Ltd, we are a large wholesale nursery grown hardy trees, shrubs, perennials, and hedging. Our garden centre is located near Junction 26, M62, making it easily accessible from Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, and Halifax. Our Services

As a wholesale nursery, we grow an ever-increasing range of hardy nursery stock and trees to supply the landscape trade, local authorities, golf clubs, voluntary bodies, and schools. Our garden centre is open to both trade and the public, offering a wide range of hardy stock grown on our nurseries as well as our links with other UK and European nurseries. Wholesale Nurseries

Our wholesale nurseries are spread over three sites around the Cleckheaton area of West Yorkshire. We are able to supply a diverse range of nursery stock from our container production nursery at Whitehall Road, fieldgrown trees from Brick Hill Farm, transplants and topiary from Hartshead Nurseries. We also have a sales manager, Rob Kellett, who has over 20 years of experience in the horticulture industry and is happy to help with any planting scheme or schedule by phone, fax, email, or face-to-face.

Container Unit

Our container unit at Whitehall Road is where we produce the majority of our container-grown trees, shrubs, hedging, and perennials. We have an annual production run of over 300,000 plants at Whitehall Road in sizes ranging from 1 to 200 litre pots. The vast majority of these are propagated by our in-house propagation team, who are always looking for new cultivars to complement our diverse range of stock.

Brick Hill Farm

At Brick Hill Farm, we grow the majority of our trees, specimen hedging, and topiary. We have been supplying trees to the UK amenity market for over 30 years. We grow a full range of trees from feathered whips through to rootballed semi-matures. Our hedging is grown in all sizes up to 2.4m.

Hartshead Nurseries

Hartshead Nurseries is used for a very diverse range of production. We produce raspberry canes and blackberries, forestry transplants, and propagate ornamental trees by budding. We also have a small container unit here used mostly for growing alpines, grasses, and phormiums.

Propagation

Outside bed and protected production of container-grown shrubs and specimens at Beardsworths amounts to over 400,000 plants. The vast majority of these are propagated on site by our own propagation team. We employ an Integrated Pest Management strategy to produce plants without damaging our environment. This begins with simple things like spacing shrubs and irrigating at specific times of the day to help reduce fungal disease pressures, through to the introduction and husbandry of natural predators of our insect pests.
