Our Origins
Our story began in 1890 when the original builders merchants company was established in Frodsham. Over the years, the company went through various transformations, and in 1981, Joe Gleave purchased the business. Joe's vision was to create a business that not only provided products but also offered expert advice and guidance to ensure that customers had the right tools for the job. This philosophy has remained at the core of our operations to this day.
Evolution and Expansion
In the 1990s, Joe's vision expanded to include a garden centre, which became a hub for gardening enthusiasts to explore and find inspiration. The garden centre was a huge success, and it wasn't long before Joe saw an opportunity to bring his vision full circle by combining the builders merchants and garden centre under one roof. This marked the birth of Robert Gleave and Sons Ltd, now known as Gleaves Home and Garden Centre.

We are proud to offer a delivery service, catering to our customers' needs, and are committed to providing exceptional customer service. Our centre is fully accessible, with ample parking, free Wi-Fi, and a welcoming atmosphere.

In recent years, we have expanded our premises to accommodate a selection of local businesses, creating a vibrant village village feel. Our village shops include Petals Vintage Tea Room, Route 56 Butty Van, Bourne Interior Solutions, and Roscoe's Ranch Doggy Day Care, offering a diverse range of products and services.
